How do I Undervolt my Ryzen processor laptop?

It's a 2.3GHz base clock to 4.0GHz turbo mode. However, when it's reaching full speed the temperatures go really high, all the way up to 90-95°C at some points. Keep in mind that the OP temperature of this CPU is 105°C. Still, I fear this will damage the processor or the nearby components.

I've tried setting a limit from Power Options in Control Panel. But it seems that the limit is not set on the maximum speed which is 4.0GHz but on the 2.3GHz base clock, which in turn makes my CPU utterly slow.

As Ryzen Master is not compatible with this processor, is there any other safe way to undervolt my processor or to set a limit on the maximum speed? Thank you all in advance.

Using ASUS TUF705DU gaming laptop.

Hi, i own an ASUS GA502, with same specs and the same thermal issues. Mine used to thottle every 1-2 min when on workload, reducing freqs to 400Mhz. Does this happen to you?

I've seen a huge improvement (still throttles) in thermals when updated Chipset Power Plan driver from the AMD site. Maybe you can give it a try. Let me know how it goes.

Same issue, did you find a solution?

Hey , as I have ASUS FX505DV ( 3750H , RTX 2060 ) , been facing the same problems , and I did manage to make it not as loud ( I hate laptops in general , but in my situation right now , I can't afford to have a dekstop ) and have thermals OK ( gets up to 90C , but it is on my lap while I lay in bed and never throttling ) while gaming and still get better performance than I used to.

  1. Ryzenadj ( search it up on google , it's community created app to help people with their Ryzen cpu's , because AMD doesn't add support on their RyzenMaster app ) , you can set max TDP , boost behaviours and so on , quite a handy tool.

  2. Liquid metal ( biggest improvement for my laptop out of these 3. Would highly recommend to first coat everything around CPU and GPU with nail polish or acrylic conformal coating , to not ruin your laptop , even tho it is highly unlikely , it is really cheap and more than worth to be safe , than sorry. )

  3. Making more vents on my back cover ( if you don't want to ruin your original one , buy one from ebay for cheap , as my laptop has very little vents for some reason , it did knock quite a few degrees off for me )

P.S Don't recommend using RyzenTest/RyzenTest0 , as for me , it simply didn't work/crashed pc and for Ryzenadj , go to "https://github.com/FlyGoat/RyzenAdj/releases" or "https://gitlab.com/ryzen-controller-team/ryzen-controller/-/releases", these are the official sites , and I am not sure which of these is latest.

And for much more help , information and everything about ryzen laptop cpu's and so on , you can join discord server, which honestly helped me personally alot and so I would recommend you do so "https://discordapp.com/invite/zw2rsbE"

Hope it helps :) But if you need some help , pm me ? Tho not sure how fast I would come back to you , as I never use Reddit , except when searching for something or something like that
